General PU Casting
We have over 2000 moulds that we have acquired or fabricated for a whole range of items, from boat rollers to shock absorber bushes or special seals for pipe flanges. Ask us, we may already have a mould for it, and if we don’t, then we can make one for your requirement. We cast components in a range of different hardnesses and colours, and we also cast items in specialty polyurethanes for more demanding applications. We can also cast items in silicon.
Custom Mould Making
Speak to us about your requirement. We have a wealth of experience at making moulds in our workshop for thousands of different items. We can often take a mould directly from an existing item in good condition, or we can construct a maquette to your specification to take a mould from, or we can simply construct a mould from a drawing. We can even have a maquette 3-D printed to use as a model, or have it CNC milled. We also have many items that we have components laser cut for, in steel or stainless steel.
V-stay Refurbishment
We have a small stock of V-stays already refurbished, so we can do an exchange on some models to get you back on the road ASAP. We refurbish both the ball type and the stub-shaft type. All damaged steel is welded up, the parts are sandblasted and painted with bonding liquid. Two half collars are welded onto the socket to mechanically prevent the exit of the ball. Then the polyurethane is cast into the joint, which is then heat cured for sixteen hours to maximise the strength and resilience of the joint.
Wheel Relining
We can meet all your polyurethane wheel relining needs: Wheels constructed from steel, cast iron, aluminium, brass or plastic, etc. The wheels are prepared for relining by cleaning off all old lining material, drilling holes in the wheels where appropriate to maximise mechanical bonding, sandblasting to provide a keyed surface, and then painting with a bonding liquid to assure a robust, long lasting result. We then face the surface of the new lining in the lathe to provide a concentric running surface to the wheel.
